I know I just posted a couple days ago but so much has happened this week that I have to share!
First and possibly most important. I had my Gestational Diabetes test on Tuesday and passed...that isn't the exciting part. For those of you who know me you will understand, for the rest you will just have to take my word for it, I let the old lady poke me twice (the first time she missed) and I didn't freak out! I am so proud of myself for maintaining my composure, I feel a lot about labor and the IV they will give me now. I am still not looking forward to it and absolutely plan on going "au nataurelle" (no epidural). For those of you who do not know about my completely irrational fear of needles this may not seem all that important but to give you a point of reference before I was prego if I needed a blood test I had to take valum... How did I do it? I have begun practicing some of the alternative coping/ relaxing techniques that I plan to use to get through an unmedicated labor and delivery, my husband is also pretty amazing at helping me focus. Unfortunatley, while I kept my emotional cool, I still almost passed out. And for those of you thinking "no epidural, your crazy..." my retort is that I am way more nervous that the anxiety of the needle will actually do more harm to me and the baby than it will do good. In any case, Yay Me!
Next, on Thursday James and I went to Ikea to "just see" and came home with the rest of the furniture for Grobbles room. We ended up getting a 3 drawer Hemnes dresser, Billy bookcase with wood/glass pannel doors, and a rug. The crib was already put together and we had a table lamp that we haven't used since we moved into our home 2 years ago. Now all that we have to do is install the window trim, replace the closet doors and door to the room, and get curtains. I am so happy with how things are going. I really feel like we are getting things done and the list is getting smaller. However I fear that Gribble is going to have a very small wardrobe. I am really not interested in baby clothes AT ALL... I really like socks :) but little pj's and onsies just are not very exciting to me...? I am also adding to my stash of cloth diapers a little at a time.
Today went really well too, but not baby related. James and I picked up my grandmothers china cabinet from my grandpas's. It goes with the dining set and looks really good in our dining room. I  have to say that my husband is fantastic he is working really hard to finish making our house a home. I am super excited that my dining room is coming together right in time for Thanks Giving especially since we are hosting this year! We are looking forward to having both of our families to our home this year.
My mom has also been a busy bee putting together the invites to my "family" shower and sending them out. Lots of people have complemented how cute they are. I really appreciate how much work she has been doing for my shower (the invites, coordinating, and planning) despiste how crazy busy she is.
Well I think that is all of the updates, now for some catch up pics :)

Me around 5 months- there was more of a bump than you can tell, but not much ;)

Room arrangement #1

The bed set- I know there are some on FB but the color is not as good

Daddy arranging HIS stuffed animals to watch the baby that will eventually share this room :)

Another "scene" on the bedding

James piggy bank (left) and the one I gave him on the night I told him we were expecting (right)

27 weeks...last week (the end of month 6)

So I think we are mostly caught up now. I am going to get James to "finish" the pics he took of me earlier in the summer AND make him take more of me as we get closer.

Happy Thanks Giving!
