Week 12, here I am. That's right, I am almost through my first trimester! I can't believe how fast time is going by. My next Dr.s appointment is next Tues and this time it will be with the nurse practitioner rather than Dr. Perez. I don't think anything exciting will happen (i.e. no pics to take home). I am still very sleepy but otherwise feel fine. And people (random strangers) are starting to give me that "are you prego or just big?" look although I have had a couple of women congratulate me, which always catches off guard.
I am excited to announce that I have picked out diapers...cloth diapers, and I think they will be really easy to use. Not to mention way less expensive than disposables. We will use disposables until the baby is 10lbs (considering I was 9.02lbs and how tall James is we probably will move into cloth relatively quickly) this is when most mom's agree that the one size's begin to fit well. So, I have to share what I learned about this day and ages cloth diapers...No more chasing your wriggly baby with diaper pins ;) After doing a lot of research online about cloth diaper brands and the difference between "All-in-Ones," "Pockets," "Pre-Folds," and "All-in-Twos" I have decided on bumGenius pocket diapers.

These diapers have a place in the back of the diaper shell to slide an absorbent cloth pad or biodegradable pad into. They come in Velcro and snaps but after ordering both options I think that I like the Velcro more. The shell of the diaper is made from PUL (polyurethane laminate) it is very soft cloth on the outside and laminated on the inside to prevent leaks. Also the inside is lined in a terry cloth/ fleecy material that is supposed to be nice and comfy against babies bottom. I think it will take some practice to get the stuffing down but its like putting a pillow into a pillow case after a couple of times you get it in without twisting or wrinkles, right. I like that these diapers were rated among (if not the) highest and most liked pocket diapers by moms. I found a blog that is kept by a stay at home mom that reviews via video clip basically every brand on the market. These were her favorite along with GroVia. I also ordered a GroVia diaper to compare to the bumGenius one. The difference was that GroVia is an "All-in-One" (there is no stuffing involved) and the diaper shell is made from TPU ( a similar polyurethane material). I decided on the pocket diaper for a couple of reasons: I have read they dry faster because they come apart, they are a few dollars less expensive, are more popular than the other brand (slightly), and they come in more color options.
In other baby news, I have become undecided about how to decorate the nursery. While, yes I have plenty of time before Gribble will be here, I had hoped to kinda get it taken car of before I go back to school (a month from tomorrow)...I am reassured that even if it doesn't get done before I graduate and then I am too big and unmotivated that the baby really won't know the difference anyways. As long as we have diapers and a place for it to sleep then we are good, lol. I had been thinking that when I got the boxes of books from my mom that I would be inspired to do a story book theme, but as I go through the books nothing is sparking my interest. Bekki was surprised we weren't using Hippo's , which got me thinking maybe we could. But I am just not falling in love with anything. I welcome suggestions if you have any :)
I think that's all for now.
